A Day of Unity, Vision and Professional Development

Saturday, October 3, 2026 – Notre Dame du Mont, Fatqa

The Mesrobian Higher Technical College (MHTC) held its first General Assembly of the 2026–2027 scholastic year on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Notre Dame du Mont (NDM), Fatqa.

The gathering brought together the MHTC administration and teaching staff for a meaningful day dedicated to spiritual reflection, institutional direction, professional development, collaboration, and team building, marking the beginning of a new scholastic year with renewed commitment and positive energy.

Beginning the Year with Faith

The General Assembly began with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Sahag Keshishian, offering the MHTC family an opportunity to begin the new academic year in a spirit of faith, gratitude, and unity.

The celebration provided a meaningful moment of reflection before embarking on the responsibilities and challenges of the new scholastic year.

Following the Holy Mass, the administration and faculty gathered for the traditional group photograph, capturing a special moment that symbolized the unity and togetherness of the MHTC family.

Administration Address: A New Year, A Shared Vision

The faculty members then proceeded to the conference room, where the institutional program officially began.

The first intervention was delivered by Mr. Grégoire Kaloust, Director of MHTC, who warmly welcomed the new members joining the Mesrobian Higher Technical College family and addressed the faculty on the priorities and vision for the 2026–2027 scholastic year.

Mr. Kaloust highlighted several important institutional matters, including the Presidential Decree and its implementation, emphasizing the importance of understanding the changes and adapting them effectively within the College.

He also reflected on the fundamental values that should remain at the heart of MHTC, particularly the importance of belongingness, commitment, responsibility, teamwork, and preserving the identity and values of Mesrobian.

His message reminded all members of the faculty that being part of MHTC goes beyond professional responsibilities; it represents a shared commitment to the educational mission and to the students entrusted to the College.

Strengthening Partnerships and Developing New Opportunities

The session continued with Mr. Serge Hanna, Head of Department, who presented several important developments and projects planned for the new scholastic year.

Mr. Hanna highlighted the College's growing network of strategic collaborations and partnerships, which continue to create new opportunities for students and strengthen the practical and professional dimension of technical education.

Among the collaborations presented were partnerships and initiatives involving:

  • AUST
  • Waznat Association
  • Œuvre d'Orient
  • Karaguezian
  • Em Nour
  • And several other institutional and professional partners.

These collaborations aim to provide students with broader exposure, practical opportunities, professional experiences, and stronger connections with the world beyond the classroom.

Introducing SEMAS

One of the new initiatives presented during the General Assembly was the introduction of SEMAS, a new activity designed specifically for technical students.

The initiative provides the students with an additional structured opportunity that supports their academic and professional development.

The administration emphasized the importance of introducing initiatives that respond to students' needs while continuously improving the educational experience offered by MHTC.

The Golden Regulations of MHTC

Another important part of the administration's presentation focused on the Golden Regulations of MHTC.

The faculty members were reminded of the essential principles and professional standards that guide daily life within the College. These regulations reinforce the importance of:

Respect • Professionalism • Discipline • Responsibility • Teamwork • Communication • Belongingness

The administration also presented key highlights concerning the upcoming activities, projects, and events planned throughout the 2026–2027 scholastic year, giving the faculty a broader perspective on the year's roadmap.

Waznat: Professional Development Through Meaningful Conversations

The second major part of the General Assembly was dedicated to professional development and team-building activities, in collaboration with Waznat Association.

Mrs. Carine Chidiac, representing Waznat Association, led two engaging interventions centered on personal development, education, teamwork, and institutional excellence.

“The Skills Nobody Teaches”

The first intervention, entitled “The Skills Nobody Teaches,” focused on the essential skills that often extend beyond formal academic or professional training.

The session encouraged participants to reflect on the human, interpersonal, and professional competencies that contribute to success in both personal and professional environments.

Through discussion and interactive activities, faculty members were encouraged to consider the importance of communication, adaptability, collaboration, initiative, and other skills that play an essential role in shaping successful professionals and educators.

 “Building the Best College”

The second intervention, entitled “Building the Best College,” focused on the collective responsibility of creating a stronger, more dynamic, and more successful educational institution.

The session encouraged the faculty to look beyond individual roles and consider how teamwork, collaboration, innovation, communication, and shared responsibility can contribute to the continuous development of MHTC.

The interactive approach allowed participants to reflect on the College's strengths, opportunities, and future aspirations, reinforcing the idea that building the best college is a collective effort.

Looking Ahead with Confidence

The General Assembly concluded with a message of optimism, unity, and commitment.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Serge Hanna thanked the administration, faculty members, and partners who contributed to the success of the gathering and expressed his confidence in the year ahead.

The day concluded on a positive note, with the MHTC family looking forward to a fruitful, productive, and successful 2026–2027 scholastic year, driven by collaboration, innovation, professionalism, and a strong sense of belonging.

The General Assembly was more than the opening meeting of a new academic year. It was an opportunity for the MHTC family to come together, reflect on its mission, strengthen its bonds, embrace new opportunities, and look toward the future with renewed energy and purpose.
