Mesrobian High School Holds Its Back-to-School Staff Assembly
The administration, teaching staff, and administrative personnel of Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School are preparing with renewed enthusiasm to welcome the 2026–2027 academic year. On this occasion, the school staff gathered on 18 September 2026 within the welcoming walls of Notre-Dame du Mont Monastery in Fatqa, where the first General Assembly of the 2026–2027 academic year was held in a warm and hope-filled atmosphere.
This year’s message and central theme are embodied in the school’s new motto: “A New Academic Year, Renewed Momentum: Refocus, Understand, Commit, and Move Forward Together.”
The day began on a spiritual note at 9:00 a.m., when the extended Mesrobian family gathered for the Holy and Immortal Divine Liturgy, celebrated by the school’s chaplain, Reverend Father Sahag Keshishian. During the Liturgy, prayers were offered to God, asking the Almighty to bless and protect the students, staff, and entire educational community, so that the new academic year may be safe and fruitful.
The Assembly featured in-depth lectures and workshops addressing contemporary educational and psychological topics. During the plenary session, renowned specialist Mr. Samir Constantin, founder of Waznat Career Counseling and Consultation, presented a session entitled “How Can I Fully Realize My Potential Through My Work at Mesrobian, Particularly During This Period?” He explored ways in which educators can achieve personal and professional fulfillment amid today’s challenging circumstances.
Dr. Colette Aoun, Educational Advisor of the school, delivered a presentation entitled “The Brain at the Helm of Learning,” focusing on contemporary approaches to neuroeducation.
For the nursery staff, Dr. Raquel Kejejian led a session entitled “Early Childhood Development,” while Mrs. Nadine Tannous presented an important session for the administrative staff entitled “One School, One Team: Communication, Emotional Intelligence, and Managing Difficult Situations.”
The school’s Principal, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, then delivered his address. He began by expressing his profound appreciation and gratitude to the entire staff for their loyalty and unwavering dedication, emphasizing that the school breathes and thrives through the commitment of its employees. Summarizing the vision for the new academic year, Mr. Kaloust highlighted the following key principles:
- Refocusing on our mission: Students must remain at the heart of every decision. It is essential to remain faithful to Mesrobian’s values: high-quality education, respect, discipline, care, Armenian identity, Christian values, and service to the Lebanese-Armenian community.
- Mutual understanding: Before passing judgment, we must seek to understand the new realities and psychological challenges faced by our students, while also showing understanding toward our colleagues.
- Responsibility and commitment: Teaching is a sacred mission. Lessons must be carefully prepared, professional development must be continuously pursued, and a consistent and fair approach must be adopted.
- Moving forward together: Progress must be achieved through close collaboration and the wise and responsible use of modern technology, including artificial intelligence.
The Principal also enthusiastically announced the new programs and initiatives for the academic year. These include the “Petit Ami” and “Voilà” after-school learning programs; “Mesrobian Cares,” the school’s student care and well-being program; the psychosocial support program implemented in partnership with the Karagheusian Association and Oum El Nour, with the support of L’Œuvre d’Orient and the French government; the establishment of an AI Library; the creation of “Mesro,” the school’s own AI assistant; the expansion of the VR Laboratory; and the formation of the new Alumni Association committee.
He also placed particular emphasis on the successful completion of the new Armenian history textbook project, initiated by Mesrobian, and extended special thanks to the Armenian-language and history teachers for their dedicated service to the Armenian community.
