There are people whose presence becomes such a natural part of our daily lives, especially in the workplace, that it feels as though they have always been there. They quietly fulfill their responsibilities without seeking attention or expecting recognition. Yet one day, when they depart, we realize just how significant a role they played in our lives.

These days, the educational family of Mesrobian High School bids farewell to such an individual: Mr. Nirmal Singh, who served our institution for twenty-six long years with exemplary dedication, integrity, diligence, punctuality, and loyalty.

Mr. Nirmal came to our school from distant India. Over the years, however, he became much more than an employee; he became a cherished member of the Mesrobian family. Officially, he was responsible for the overall maintenance and care of our school building. In reality, his role extended far beyond that.

It was difficult not to see him throughout our large campus. He was everywhere, in the hallways, near the classrooms, in the courtyard, and at the entrance. His efforts to keep everything orderly, clean, and well maintained became an integral part of the school’s daily rhythm.

But Nirmal’s contribution went well beyond his official duties.

He was always ready to help. Whenever he noticed a student facing a challenge, Nirmal would step in without hesitation. He always had something valuable to offer, a helpful piece of advice, words of encouragement, or a comforting presence. When parents needed guidance or assistance, Nirmal was there. When teachers or staff members required support, he extended a helping hand without a second thought.

Over the years, he became a friend to everyone. From the administration to the youngest students, all knew and loved him. His smile, willingness to help, and kindness earned him a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.

On June 4, at the initiative of Mesrobian Principal Mr. Grégoire Kaloust, a special farewell ceremony was organized in honor of Nirmal Singh. The school courtyard was filled with students, teachers, and staff members who gathered to express their gratitude to the man who had served their community for more than two decades.

In his heartfelt remarks, Mr. Kaloust highlighted the values that Nirmal embodied throughout all these years: honesty, hard work, punctuality, and loyalty. These are not merely admirable words but principles capable of guiding an entire lifetime.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful symbols of Nirmal’s service is that he accompanied thousands of students throughout their educational journey. Many first entered Mesrobian as kindergarten children, beginning in the Buds Class, and one of the first faces they encountered at the school entrance was Nirmal’s. Years later, when those same students graduated and walked through the gates of Mesrobian toward a new chapter in life, Nirmal was once again there to bid them farewell.

He welcomed generations and saw generations on their way.

Today, as Nirmal returns to his homeland of India, he takes with him twenty-six years of memories. Yet he also leaves behind something even more valuable: his example and his lasting impact.

Educational institutions are not built solely with buildings and classrooms. They are also built by people who, through their daily work, kindness, and dedication, create a true community. Nirmal Singh is one of those people.

The Mesrobian family feels profound gratitude for Nermal’s twenty-six years of service. We are certain that his noble character, warm smile, and unwavering dedication will continue to live in our memories for many years to come.

Dear Nirmal,

You are returning to your home, but Mesrobian will always remain your second home.

Thank you for everything.

We will never forget you.
