Mesrobian High School students, parents and teachers once again gathered together to joyfully celebrate "Paregentan", the beautiful traditional Armenian holiday preceding Lent, in a festive and culturally rich event organized with the participation of the school’s second graders.

Our beloved colleague, Mrs. Zepur Ghebligian-Tamerian from Armenia, who is always awaited by all, once again participated in the celebration organized in collaboration with the AGBU Armenian Online University (AGBU AVC) via Zoom. Mrs. Zepur shared her knowledge about the "Paregentan" traditions and spoke with particular warmth about the games that Armenian ancestors played on this holiday. He shared valuable information about the handmade toys of past generations and the traditional foods that are part of this beloved holiday.

This year’s event opened a new chapter with the participation of parents who were invited to share the experience with their children. The students arrived wearing masks and full of enthusiasm. Their preparation was led by their Armenian language teacher, Ms. Vergin, after weeks of dedicated work. The students expressed the festive spirit through the "Paregentan" song and heartfelt words, while a beautifully decorated table displayed traditional items and foods related to the celebration.

The celebration ended on a delicious note. Mesrobian’s Parents Committee offered boiled wheat to the students and tahini bread to the parents. Everything was done to honor the richness of the Armenian heritage and emphasize the importance of passing it on to the next generation.
