The 2nd grade students of Mesrobian Elementary School celebrated the Shrovetide, which is an Armenian national-religious feast, in a special way.
Led by AGBU Online University instructor, Mrs. Zepur Ghebligian from Yerevan, the students first learned about the history of the feast and the traditions associated with it, and then shared the information they had gathered on this occasion with each other, within the framework of the Armenian language class.
The table held on this occasion which was prepared by the Armenian teacher Ms. Verjin Saatjian, was decorated with traditional dishes related to the feast. At the end of the gathering, the students sang an Armenian folk song dedicated to Shrovetide and tasted dried fruits and nuts which had been prepared by the school's Parents' Committee.
