As part of the cooperation with AGBU's Online University (AVC), Mesrobian’s 5th grade students got acquainted with the life and works of the Armenian song pioneer, Father Gomidas, during an online meeting.
The students entered the school’s Farajian hall to the sounds of the song ‘Shushig’ composed by Gomidas. Ms. Zepur Ghbligian, a colleague from the AVC, presented the Gomidas Museum through an online tour from Yerevan and, among other things, showed the students the musical instruments of Father Gomidas, such as his flutes and his piano.
On this occasion, the students listened to Gomidas' ‘Our Father’ hymn, which was written in 1915. Then they performed the ‘Gakavig’ song from the great composer and four students read their researches about Gomidas and his music.
At the end of the meeting, Mrs. Ghbligian and the head of the elementary school, Mrs. Salpy Moughalian, emphasized the need to preserve our cultural heritage as Armenian students and future citizens. The students left the hall after listening to Gomidas’ ‘Kele Kele’.
