The weekend extracurricular activities of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School have already started.
The following groups operate for the students of the school:
Armenian folkloric dance (for 5 age groups), chess, painting, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), football, basketball, gymnastics and theater. A group lasting one hour for dance, theater, drawing and construction games playing (Lego) is available for the KG1 and KG2 classes.
The football and basketball teams are active on Fridays, from 3:30-4:30 while the rest of the courses take place on Saturdays, between 8:30 and 1:00.
Extracurricular activities significantly contribute to the overall development of students, enhancing their social, emotional, academic and physical well-being. They play a crucial role in forming well-developed individuals who are ready to face various challenges in the future.
Extracurricular activities create an environment for the students to express their interests outside of the current curriculum. These experiences can help them discover conceivable paths in their future life.
Studies have shown that students who participate in extracurricular activities tend to achieve better academic results. These activities teach time management, discipline and organizational skills. Furthermore, they provide students with an opportunity to interact with peers having similar interests. This promotes friendship and helps develop social skills, teamwork and cooperation. On the other side, it should be noted that mastering a new skill can increase a student's self-confidence and self-esteem.
