Annual Benevolent Gala Dinner

On Thursday, the 1^st of December 2011, at 9:00 PM, Mesrobian High School organized its traditional annual benevolent gala dinner that took place in the «Noura Hall» of the «Metropolitan Palace» hotel to support the «Adopt a Student» plan. The gala dinner was under the presidency of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics. There were also spiritual fathers, benefactors, school friends and members of the administrative staff as well as representatives of the auxiliaries.

The welcoming speech was made by one of the school friends Mher Kalenderian who emphasized particularly the need for supporting an Armenian school in the most important process of preserving the Armenians.

Then, the school Principal Gregoire Kaloust addressed the audience through his cordial speech and presented the current situation of the school by starting from different points.

And in the name of the personnel of Mesrobian, the school principal considered this meeting as the right occasion to ask His Beatitude to give a souvenir gratefully to His Excellency Bishop Father Vartan Ashkarian for the services he rendered for many long years to Mesrobian High School.

In addition, during the benevolent gala dinner, His Excellency Bishop Vartan Ashkarian gave gratefully a special souvenir «The Holy Bible» to the school permanent and sincere friend and benefactor Mr. Varouj Nerguizian for his devotion to the school. Then, the school benefactor made a speech in which he mentioned that he will organize personally a benevolent dinner soon on the 8th of March in Dubai, in order to support the Armenian Catholic schools in Lebanon.

Also, Mr. Edgar and Mrs. Elizabeth Sioufi were especially honored by His Excellency Bishop Hovhannes Teyrouzian, the President of Armenian Catholic Schools Committee in Lebanon, who gave them a souvenir with gratitude.

Finally, we would like to express our overwhelming gratitude towards our benefactors who generously donated the "Adopt a Student" program during this successful event.
