On the 15th of September 2010, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School personnel, comprising the principal and the teachers, was gathered in the St. Savior Church where the parish priest of the church Father Sarkis Tavitian made a welcoming speech in Armenian and Father Sebouh Garabedian did so in Arabic. After that, they prayed all together and opened the new school year.

Then, the present group went to the school �Faradjian� auditorium to hold a general meeting for the new school year.
After a simple hospitality, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School Principal Mr. Gregoire Kaloust made the opening speech of the 2010-2011 school year, in which he welcomed them all back after the summer vacation and talked in detail about the novelties of the new school year with regard to construction as well as changes related to the personnel. And after presenting the school rules, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust welcomed warmly the painting teacher Mr. Vazken Moughalian who joined Mesrobian family. Mr. Moughalian will teach painting to the school seventh and eighth grades students of the intermediate section. According to Mr. Kaloust, this is something new for the school and it comes to discharge the overloaded school program followed by the students.


The principal talked also about the school laboratory by taking into consideration that it is considered as a unique laboratory among the schools in Lebanon, for it is endowed with all the modern scientific equipment and materials. Consequently, there are big expectations that starting from this school year the laboratory responsible Mr. Serge Hanna will spend more time on doing scientific works with the students.

In his speech, Mr. Kaloust talked also about the fact that Mesrobian is the biggest Armenian school with its number of students who study there and who come from families belonging to different denominations.


He also talked about the upcoming projects to be realized, among which there is still the new kindergarten building construction that was planned last year. By taking into consideration the interest and the great need for Mesrobian nursery, the third new classroom of the nursery will be ready starting from this year and will be endowed with all the modern conditions that will allow the children� parents to benefit from the internet services to follow, from their home, what their children are doing in the nursery.

At the end of his speech, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust wished the audience a school year full of good and fruitful works. Then, the director of the educational training and coordination center in the general secretariat of the Catholic schools in Lebanon Mrs. Linda Aoun made a speech in which she talked in detail about the scientific study related to the right organization of the pedagogues� works. The advices given by Mrs. Aoun will obviously help the teachers to organize a very useful work with the new generations of students.

Then, one of the responsible specialists of Saint Joseph University Department of Educational Sciences, Mrs. Suzanne Abou Rjeily made a brief speech and re-evaluated the work done during the last school year by a special group of university specialists in the kindergarten and elementary sections of Mesrobian school, that according to the results this year considerable changes are already expected in the educational system. She emphasized that similar works are expected this year in the intermediate and secondary sections.
