On Friday, the 26th of August 2011, at 7:00 PM, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian Technical College organized the closing ceremony of the «Oasis XIII» summer program at Bourj Hammoud Municipal Stadium, in the presence of more than 2500 Armenians.


The ceremony began with an opening dance that was followed by the parade of «Oasis» groups and later on the Lebanese and Armenian national anthems. After that, the general supervisor of «Oasis» summer program, Caroline Terzian made a speech by saying that the «Oasis» students spend pleasant and very useful moments through singing, dancing, making excursions, playing and other educational means. Then, Terzian gave thanks to Mesrobian administration and its personnel as well as to the parents for their cooperation in realizing this enterprise.


Then, the «Oasis» students coming from different countries and schools presented an artistic program for one and a half hour. They sang the songs «Kichenk payts Hayenk» and «Tserk dour enger im». They also performed Armenian, Arabic and European dances that filled the audience with enthusiasm. Moreover, they presented a Kung Fu show.


Let’s mention that each «Oasis» group was carrying the name of the Armenian historical occupied lands, while the handmade figures of the Alphabet, Ararad, the church, Sartarabad, Artsakh and the cross-stone were placed in the stadium.


At the end of the ceremony, the students formed a special «Oasis» word. After that, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School principal, Gregoire Kaloust made a speech by saying that the red, blue and orange uniforms of «Oasis» groups transmit messages on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s re-independence. Kaloust added by saying that the summer program aims at educating the children and the adolescents and this ceremony comes to affirm that «Oasis» serves the purpose.


Gregoire Kaloust gave thanks to the organizers and the teachers who assumed their jobs perfectly. He said that the honest behavior of the parents guaranteed the success of «Oasis». At the end of his speech, Kaloust said hopefully that «Oasis» will be more developed and improved in forthcoming years, so that it continues its educational mission with great fervor.


Eventually, fireworks were displayed to close the «Oasis XIII» ceremony.
