A Meeting with MP Lilite Kalsdian: Group of Educational Journalism Mesrobian Technical College
On Tuesday, the 21st of September 2010, at 4:00 PM, the educational journalism students� group of Mesrobian met with Lilitte Kalsdian, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, in the meeting room of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School.


During the meeting, the welcoming speech was made by the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School principal Mr. Gregoire Kaloust who affirmed that Mesrobian students are inspired with St. Mesrob Mashdots� spirit, by speaking Armenian and safeguarding the Armenian values. Kaloust said that specializing in Armenian studies and particularly the Western Armenian language is important in the Diaspora, because the importance and the need of manpower are becoming evident day after day.

In his turn, the teacher adviser of the educational journalism students� group of Mesrobian High School Raffi Demirdjian talked about the group�s work and upcoming projects. Demirdjian said that the members of the group are making, through successive meetings, the acquaintance of the individuals who play a role in the public life and they are having a corresponding knowledge related to the domain of journalism and they are undertaking many kinds of enterprises and publications in the mentioned outline in order to develop this domain.


Then, the member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Lilitte Kalsdian made a speech in which she mentioned that she has always heard positive opinions of Mesrobian school, that represent the national spirit that exists as well as the meticulous and organized work that is done in the school. Kalsdian congratulated the students on the occasion of the independence of the Second Republic of Armenia.

Lilitte Kalsdian said that the authorities of Armenia are trying by all possible means to safeguard the vitality of the Diaspora, which is an appreciable aspect. She mentioned that at present, it is possible to get in Armenia a higher education in Armenology in Western Armenian language that really contributes to the preparation of new teachers, educational supervisors, editors and national agents in the Diaspora. Lilitte Kalsdian mentioned that Hamazkayin, the Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, has contributed greatly to the establishment of the Western Armenian language and the Diaspora studies faculty.

At the end of the meeting, Gregoire Kaloust emphasized that welcoming one of the members of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia in Mesrobian High School on Armenia�s Independence Day, is an interesting coincidence carrying an important message. After that, there was an intimate talk with the students. The meeting with the group was followed by the meeting with the administration, during which Lilitte Kalsdian became acquainted with Mesrobian school history, work and projects.
