On Monday, the 16th of May 2011, at 8:00 PM, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School and Technical College Principal, the teaching and administrative staffs, the graduates, the parents and friends as well as the guests of the day were all gathered in the schoolyard to participate in the solemn ceremony of distribution of diplomas to the graduates.


The graduation ceremony began with the Lebanese and Armenian national anthems as well as Mesrobian School�s official anthem. After that, the school Principal Gregoire Kaloust made the opening speech in which he mentioned that �the school that was educating generations for 72 years is yielding today its 72nd bunch of graduates�. He assured that this is the strongest proof of the success of the school�s educational mission and that the existence and the progress of the Armenians alongside the church in the Diaspora are conditioned by the stability of the Armenian school which principal role is the preservation of the nation. In his speech, the principal also assured by saying that �We are going to elevate that school to a level at which any Armenian would like to see and have it, which means we will let it become an enviable school having international standards�.


During the day, the graduates made speeches in Armenian, Arabic, French and English languages. In addition, the students presented a well prepared artistic program.

The speaker of the day was the director of �Aztag� Daily, Shahan Kandaharian who mentioned in his speech that an Armenian school graduate has advantages which are �receiving an Armenian education; cooperating valuably with the Lebanese community; maintaining a good equilibrium between what belongs to the Armenian people and to the Lebanese people; acquiring knowledge and developing the most noble human characteristics�. And all these are already provided by this school.


Then, the graduates ceremonially transmitted the �Mesrobian shield� to the 11th grade students. And a DVD prepared by the graduates was shown after that.

At the end of the ceremony, the distribution of diplomas was made by His Excellency Bishop Vartan Ashkarian and the school principal Gregoire Kaloust as well as the speaker of the day Shahan Kandaharian.

And after cutting the cake and displaying the joyful fireworks, the graduates received the heartfelt congratulations.
