Under the high patronage of
Nerses Bedros XIX, Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics, the opening ceremony of
Mesrobian Alice Nerguizian Nursery was held on Tuesday, 28th of December, 2010, at 7:00PM.
An artistic program was prepared by St. Savior Church's Plpoul choir, led by
Mr. Manuel Kechichian. After which,
Mrs. Salpy Moughalian, the principal of the Nursery, addressed her speech to the audience. She invited the parents to bring their children to the Nursery, where they will develop a positive self-image, a sense of independence and autonomy, in a healthy, happy and safe environment.
Afterwards, a movie was played to the audience depicting the goals of the nursery, its facilities, and briefing about
the benevolent Varouj Nerguizian, who was behind the success of the project.
Following that, Mr. Varouj Nerguizian came forward and shared his thoughts with the audience. He thanked his mother, whom the nursery was named after, for her selfless giving and continuous love and care. He also declared that it was a great privilege to undertake such a project in Mesrobian College and make it success.
During the ceremony, a blessing letter from
Pope Benedict XVI to
Mrs. Alice Nerguizian was read by
Father Kevork Yeghiayan. In this letter, the Supreme Pontiff felicitates Mrs. Nerguizian for her extreme care about child education and her spirit to serve.
At the end of the ceremony,
Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the principal of Mesrobian College, and Mrs. Salpy Moughalian submitted two souvenirs one from the school and the other made by the children of the Nursery of the old building. The ceremonious opening of the new Nursery followed.
