On Saturday, 13^th of March, 2010, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School organized the annual benevolent gala dinner, which took place in the Italian restasurant "Il Siciliano", under the high auspices of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX, the Catholicos Patriarch of the Armenian Catholics of Cilicia.


The opening speech was pronounces by Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the principal of Mesrobian High School. He stressed on the fact that the Armenian Diaspora is in need to stand besides the Armenian Church and the Armenian School in order to keep its social identity. Mesrobian High School, Mr. Gregoire continued, is committed to develop for this purpose, on both academic and constructional directions.


Speaking about the man of the hour, Mr. Varouj Nerguizian, Mr. Gregoire praised his humbleness. The principal also thanked him for being such a faithful and sincere friend of the college. Mr. Gregoire noted that Mr. Neguizian has founded "Apraham Nerguizian Fund", a fund named after his late father for the needy students. He also made his noble gifts during the annual Mesrobian benevolent gala dinners a yearly tradition. With the request of Mesrobian administration, His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX awarded Mr. Nerguizian with the St. Mesrob Mashdots medal, as a sign of the gratitude coming from the heart of each and every Mesrobian needy student.


The proceeds from this year's benevolent dinner were all submitted to the Needy Students Fund.
