On Friday, 8th of May, 2009, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School celebrated its traditional
Mesrobian Day, organized by the
Alumni Committee of Mesrobian High School, for the
fourth consecutive years.
The event started at 7:30AM, with the students praying the Lord's Prayer. After which, they sang the Lebanese national anthem, the Armenian national anthem, and the school's official anthem.
Following that,
Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the principal of the college, addressed his speech to the students. He congratulated the Alumni Committee for the efforts they are providing each year to make this event a success.
After the principal's speech,
Dr. Krikor Edidjian, the chairman of the Alumni Committee, came forward to share his thoughts with the students. He wished them all a joyful day, full of activities and fun. He also thanked, in his turn, the members of the Alumni Committee, the administration of the school, the members of Parents' Committee for participating in the event by preparing the food corner, as well as the students for the enthusiasm they show towards the event.
During Mesrobian Day,
the winners in the inter-class sporting competitions received awards from the principal of the school and the chairman of the Alumni Committee.
The program also included Armenian Songs contest. The
student Ani Tarpinian won the contest, and she received a special award.
The joyful atmosphere was reigning throughout the day. When the event ended, it seemed too short to everybody, though it ended at 2:30PM, at the same time as a usual, never-ending, class day ends.
Below are some pictures of the event.
