By the initiation of the Mesrobian administration and by the blessing of His Beatitude, Nerses Bedros XIX, the Catholicos Patriarch of the Armenian Catholics of Cilicia, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School is being celebrated throughout this special educational year.

As an event in the series of events offered for this occasion, Loucine Kaprielian, the young Armenian Traditional Miniature painter, presented her second individual exhibition in AUC hall, on Thursday, 11th of December, 2008. Her first individual exhibition was in 1992, in "Levon Shant" hall, Aleppo.


In her speech, Mrs. Garin� Tashjian, the head of the extra-curricular activities and the chief-editor of "Mesrobian Messenger" magazine, said: "By organizing Lucine Kaprielian's exhibition, our college is contributing to the Armenian Art in Lebanon." She also added: "Our college's administration believes that the art and the aesthetics are mediums to educate and instruct the new generation: A goal for which our college has served, and continues serving, for 70 years." She specially thanked and welcomed the Lebanese Armenian art critic, Dr. Movses Herguelian, who had sponsored this event.

In his turn, Dr. Herguelian highly appreciated Mesrobian High School, for organizing different art exhibitions at different occasions, and thus contributing to the Armenian art. Concentrating on Loucine Kaprielian's art, the critic said: "Loucine is one of the exceptional artists, who are called to construct culture by their talent and vocation."


Following that, the audience was invited to move around the hall and watch the 129 pieces that were exhibited. It is worthwhile to note, that some of the artist's accomplishments are already found in the Convent of Bzommar.

Hence, on the occasion of its 70th anniversary, the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School has come to encourage the Armenian artist and to support the Armenian art and literature.
