On Saturday, 14
th of June, 2008 in Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School's yard, in the presence of more than 800 people,
78 KG2 class children came forward for farewell celebration.
After listening the Lebanese and Armenian official marches, three of the KG2 children read speeches in Arabic, French, and Armenian language; they were Garine Nersesian, Hagop Apartian, and Sevan Koja Oghlonian.
Afterwards, the principal of the college,
Mr. Gregoire Kaloust said: "
We are proud today to lead this beautiful bunch of flowers to the educational long way. They came to kindergarten with tottering steps but now they are armed with spiritual and national awareness", emphasizing the kindergarten's role, he continued, "
more than 800 people are gathered today here, thereby obliging us to work more fervently to prosper Mesrobian College's educational level. We will reach our goal by shedding the light on the importance of kindergarten which is the foundation of any educational institution." Regarding the future plans of kindergarten, he said: "
In this Armenian massive district, Bourj Hammoud, we will build such a unique kindergarten which will be the pride not only to Lebanese Armenian but also to all Armenians scattered through out the world."
Thus the principal congratulated all the parents whose children got their first diploma. He also congratulated the graduates and the head-teacher of Mesrobian Kindergarten,
Mrs. Maria Boejekian. Directing his speech to the graduating children he said: "
12 years later, right on this stage and in front of Saint Mesrob's monument, let us see you again receiving higher diploma."
The KG2 class successively presented a song and three dances. Later on, the stage was disposed to KG1 class, who, in their turn, presented a song and another three dances. Afterwards, solemnly, the graduates ascended to the stage to perform two additional songs. At the end of the artistic program,
Bishop Father Vartan Ashkarian was invited to the stage to give his fatherly speech. Right after his speech, the ceremony of diploma distribution took place.
Finally, Mesrobian's kindergarten closed its doors for the year 2007-2008 wishing the graduates new and higher achievements.
