Mesrobian commemorated the 20th anniversary of Artsakh Liberation Movement Mesrobian Technical College
On Monday, May 12, 2008 at 8:00am, Mesrobian High School commemorated the 20th anniversary of the Artsakh Liberation Movement. The event took place in the Hovhannes Boghossian theatre by the initiative of the 11th grade students. Students, teachers, staff, parents, friends, as well as other honorable guests were present to witness artistic performances, learn historical facts and to listen to Mr. Zakar Kashishian, the lecturer of the day, who shared about his own experience of the war in Artsakh. Among the guests, Mr. Vartan Tashjian was present, as well.


At first, Talar Khatchadurian and Hagop Kornozian narrated briefly about the historical events that took place in Yerevan and Artsakh at the end of the 80's. Talar Khatchadurian asserted: "Today's event is dedicated to those who liberated Artsakh through their bravely act and absolute courage". Then, she invited to stage Mr. Zakar Keshishian, the composer and the maestro of Shoushi's Varanda choir. Besides sharing his own experience, Mr. Zakar stressed on the greatness of Artsakh, and remembered the audience about the heroism of its people. Afterwards, Mary Noel Keshishian, Nicol Salib and Jennifer Abetian performed the songs "Kedashen" and "Baderazm ek kenoum" ("You are going to the war").


Nazareth Tovmassian presented a poem about Mher Choulhajian, a Lebanese Armenian martyr, who fought for Artsakh. A DVD movie about Artsakh followed. Then, Mr. Vartan Aznavourian, the supervisor of the elementary section, performed a song dedicated to Vicken Zakarian, another Lebanese Armenian martyred fighter. He was accompanied by Houry Khachadourian and Lara Arabian, both on guitars. On their turn, Marie-No�l Keshishian and Karnig Panossian sang another song dedicated to Shahen Meghrian, an Artsakhian martyred commander. They were accompanied by Houry Khachadourian (guitar), Lara Arabian (guitar) and Kevork Keshishian (flute).


Then, Sarin Tavitian invited the principal of Mesrobian High School, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust to stage. Mr Kaloust greeted the attendants, specially those who were responsible to realize this event successfully. Then, he invited to stage the 11th grade students and said: "We are really proud of having such generation". Directing his word to graduate students, he stated: "In eleven days, you shall give the shield to these students, who organized today's event and accomplished it successfully."


At last, Sarin Tavitian invited the presents to stand up for Artsakh's anthem to honor and respect.
