On Saturday, 14th of July, 2007, in Mesrobian courtyard, Mesrobian Technical College has celebrated its graduation ceremony for the academic years 2005-2006 and 2006-2007, under the high patronage of Mr. Antranik Messerlian, Mayor of Bourj Hammoud Municipality.

The ceremony started with the Lebanese and Armenian national anthems, followed by the speech of Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the Principal of Mesrobian Technical College.

In his speech, Mr. Gregoire thanked all the guests and specially Mr. Antranik Messerlian for their presence. Then he noted that this year's graduation ceremony is for the graduates of the academic year 2005-2006 as well as for the ones of the academic year 2006-2007. The previous year's graduation ceremony was canceled because of the war in Lebanon during summer 2006. He continued in his speech thanking those charitable organizations who collaborated with Mesrobian Technical College. Among them, the "Mouawad" non-profit organization is the one that allowed young workers from age 14 to 17 to be able to continue their education in Mesrobian Technical College besides their job. He also thanked the "World Vision" international charitable organization for helping Mesrobian to organize "Nursing School" program. And last but not least, Mr. Gregoire thanked the USAID for funding the building of the new Computer Laboratory.

Mr. Gregoire continued his speech, by emphasizing that the TS graduates are the first TS grade harvest of Mesrobian Technical College. He then encouraged BT students to earn higher educational degrees. And last but not least, he congratulated the private specializations graduates for having a degree in hand.

Following Mr. Gregoire' speech, an artistic program was presented to the audience. The Armenian Dance group "Freedom" came presented several folkloric dances.

Msgr. Vartan Ashkarian

A DVD presentation entitled "the academic life in Mesrobian Technical College" was shown. After which, Msgr. Vartan Ashkarian was invited to stage to address his paternal speech to the audience. Msgr. Vartan Ashkarian first denoted the role that plays Mesrobian Technical College in the Lebanese Armenian Community. He then congratulated the graduates and advised them to use the modern technology for the wellness of the human being, and not the contrary.


At the end of the ceremony, the certificates were presented to the graduates by the hands of Mr. Antranik Meserlian, Msgr. Vartan Ashkarian and Mr. Gregoire Kaloust.
