On Friday, September 7, 2007, Mesrobian Technical College concluded its Oasis 2007 summer program during a special ceremony held for this purpose. The ceremony was prepared by participating students and was held in AUC Boghossian Hall, in the presence of the students' parents, teachers, and friends; around 600 presents overall.
For 9 years consecutively, the Oasis Summer Program is being organized by Mesrobian Technical College Preschool Education students. This year, 143 boys and girls, aging from 3 to 13 years, and coming from 29 different schools, were divided into 6 age groups. The students' artworks, that were made during the 2 months program, was presented during an exhibition which preceded the concluding celebration.
The celebration started with the national anthems of Lebanon and Armenia. Following that, the students performed Armenian, Arabic and Italian songs, as well as Armenian, Arabic and European dances, and martial arts shows.
During the celebration, a screen projection was shown presenting the Oasis 2007 summer program. As a summary, the 2 months program included outings in water parks and restaurants, as well as visiting Lebanese cities and villages like Shekka, Seidet Nourieh, Ainjar and Jbeil. On the educational and artistic side, there were dancing, singing, painting, handicrafts, theatre, cooking and computer courses; as well as standard school courses and Armenian Language for Armenian students coming from non-Armenian schools. On the sport side, there were martial arts and basketball.
The students ended the celebration by singing the Oasis song.
