On Tuesday, 21st of February 2006, The Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School commemorated Vartanants day.
Thus, on 10:30AM, the staff and the teachers as well as the students headed towards Hovannes Boghossian Hall where they enjoyed the celebration.
The celebration started with the Lebanese and Armenian national anthems, performed by the choir of Mesrobian, lead by Mr. Manuel Keshishian. Following that, the student presented an artistic program, which included musical performance, poetry, as well as Armenian traditional dance presented by a combined group of students from Mesrobian and St. Agnes School.
The guest of the day, Mr. Hratch Varjabedian, stressed in his speech about the importance of the celebration. He mentioned that the Armenians with St. Vartan on that day lead a heroic political victory that we still enjoy its fruits, though they were defeated militarily.
The celebration ended up with the speech of Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the executive director of the school. Mr. Gregoire challenged the students to take all the responsibilities of being sons and daughters of Mesrob and Vartan and strive to keep their faith and nationality alive.
