On Saturday, April 8 2006 evening, Mesrobian High School organized a benevolent Gala Dinner at Metropolitan Palace Hotel dedicated to the "Adopt a Student" Program.

More than 200 guests were present at the banquet, among them His Beatitute Nerses Bedros XIX, Catholicos Patriarch of Armenian Catholics of Cilicia, His Excellency Mgr. Vartan Ashkarian, the Armenian Ambassador in Lebanon Mr. Vahan Der Ghevontian, Lebanese ministers and Parliement deputees, as well as many honorable figures in the Lebanese Armenian community.

The Sisters of Charity of Zook, who took the initiative to work and create relationships between Catholic schools in Lebanon, were also present in the banquet and participated with generosity to the donations made towards the "Adopt a Student" program.

This year, the "Adopt a Student" program considered to help 108 needy students attending Mesrobian High School. The gala banquet held on April 8th, satisfied expectations of Mesrobian administration.

As a matter of fact, the event generated 92000 USD of donations from all the presents. However, the guest of the event Prof. Angelo Bozio, president of DMS Onlus organization, added 16000 USD to the donated amount, thus completing the entire tuition fees of the 108 needy students the "Adopt a Student" program was intending to help.

Mesrobian school administration expresses its deep feelings of gratitude and thankfullness to Prof. Angelo Bozio and his noble wife Dr. Barbara Bozio, for the great contributions they are making and the love they are showing to help the school to move ahead towards the challenges it's facing on academical, spiritual and social levels.

Mesrobian school administration is also grateful to Fonds Robert Boghossian & Fils who faithfully donates 10000 USD each and every year as a true friend standing besides the school when facing its challenges.

This year, Varoujan Nerguizian, CEO of Bank of Sharjah, and his brothers Shahé and Vahé came to be added as new friends to Mesrobian school. They donated 14000 USD (of which 3000 USD to St. Agnes school).

You give us the encouragement we need for the perseverence of the goal that Mgr. Vartan Ashkarian stated in his speech: Teach Armenian students the spiritual and national values they need regardless their social and background.
