The staff and students of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School greeted the school's long-time singing teacher and head of school’s choirs, Deacon Mr. Manuel Keshishian, and long-time teacher of Christian education, Mrs. Salpy Keshishian, who will leave Lebanon next week.
On this occasion, the school’s Principal, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, and the vice-parish priest of the St. Savior Church, Reverend Father Sahag Keshishian, spoke, bringing up the Keshishian couple’s services to the Armenian Church and the Armenian School over the decades. In his turn, Mr. Keshishian addressed the audience with heartfelt words, thanking the attendees for their warm regard.
Mr. Manuel Keshishian has been serving as the singing teacher and the leader of the church and the school’s choirs for 53 years. He brought up successive generations with the spirit of Armenian religious and national music. Mr. Keshishian is the founder and the leader of our school's Little Swallows and Big Swallows choirs, which have always played a central role in the school's Armenian national and religious celebrations. His activity is also significant as the long-term conductor of the St. Savior Church’s Ardzivian Choir.
Mrs. Salpy Keshishian has been a model teacher for 30 years. She has taught Christian education at Mesrobian High School, delivering the Word of God to the young generation and has consistently fulfilled the duties of preparing students for the First Holy Communion and organizing the ceremony. She has also been the chief assistant and the right arm of the school’s chaplain.
