On August 24, 2018, Mesrobian Technical School’s Oasis Summer Program’s closing ceremony took place at the campus of Mesrobian High School. During the 20-year period, more than 4000 Armenian children and adolescents from different Lebanese regions and abroad participated in Oasis, which provided them with a pleasant and useful environment for the summer vacation.

The 20th Oasis started on July 3, 2018, with 237 participants. During 8 weeks, children and adolescents between ages 3 and 13 attended a diverse program, which was divided into different groups: handcrafts, painting, movie screening, different sports, theater, educational games, religious education, computer course, knowledge of the kitchen. The novelty of this year was the group of ‘’Robotics’’ with its theoretical and practical parts. Moreover, the 7 tours to swimming pools and attractions in Lebanon created an enthusiastic atmosphere.

The closing ceremony of Oasis was the true expression of the work achieved and the enthusiasm of the participants, as well as of the 20th anniversary’s festive mood. More than 1000 guests attended the ceremony, which began with the march of torchbearers. One participant of each year’s Oasis took one torch to the stage as a symbol of the continuity of Oasis. The participants of Oasis presented specifically an Armenian artistic program.

Mesrobian’s Principal Gregoire Kaloust delivered the closing speech. He mentioned that the achieved success was the result of serious and meticulous work, for which he thanked Oasis organizing staff and teachers. He rewarded Manuel Keshisian and Stepan Mesdjian for serving Oasis for 20 years. Mr. Kaloust insisted that Oasis will always remain an Armenian environment for the Armenian children and adolescents, thanking the parents for their encouragement and support.
