On 25 August 2017, the closing ceremony of the Oasis Summer Program, organized by the Mesrobian Technical School, took place In the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School. The summer camp has provided its participants beautiful days of vacation for 19 years.

This year, Oasis started on the 5th of July. The staff was comprised of 45 young and energetic members, led by Mrs. Caroline Pouchian Terzian. During the 8 weeks, boys and girls from 3 to 13 years old took part in a multidisciplinary program that included crafting, painting, watching films, training in sports (football, basketball, martial arts, and cycling), theatre, games, religious studies, computer skills, cuisine, etc. The weekend trips to pools and landmarks were always looked forward to with excitement by the camp members. To make the most out of the summer holidays, the “Mini Oasis” took place from June 12 to 30.

The closing ceremony of Oasis was an authentic representation of the program and its members.  In the presence of parents and friends, the 2017 Oasisites presented a colorful show filled with Armenian and international dances, songs, theatrical pieces, and sports demonstrations, reliving the happiness of the summer-long program. Mr. Vartan Aznavourian was the host.

In the opening speech, Mrs. Caroline Terzian expressed her gratitude towards all that it took to accomplish to program from A to Z. In its 19 years, Oasis had more than 3700 members coming from Lebanon’s different regions and even from abroad, who spent their summer vacation in a pleasant and nurturing atmosphere.

In the final speech, Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, principal of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School & Technical College, noted that the year’s accomplishment was the result of serious, meticulous and organized work, carried out by the Oasis staff members, to whom he expressed his gratitude. Mr. Gregoire Kaloust also noted that in 2018, Oasis would be 20 years old, which would surely be marked by a unique nature.
